We survived the mall
Ventured out to the mall today. Mommy wanted to get a family portrait done, as we had a coupon, and I had a gift to return. The traffic around the mall was intense. We got a parking spot that would normally be a terrible spot, but today, being that it was the only spot, it was a great spot! Thankfully, I was pushing a stroller and the herds parted before me. I may take a stroller to the mall...

TGIF
Never has TGIF held such weight. You see, Mommy gets home today. First full week of her away on business, and quite possibly, the hardest week of my life. While I can’t wait to get my arms the woman I love, I’m more excited for her to be with her baby. This week has totally consumed me. On Monday, the baby stood up for the first time. Until now, I have always held my hands...

Milestone Alert!
Over the last couple of days The Baby has really hated the bed/naptime routine. It goes something like this: change her diaper, sit together in the glider, have a bit of a song and chat about how it’s time to go to sleep, then cradle her chest to chest holding the pacifier in her mouth and rock. Now, I have no idea if this is the right thing to do but it has worked for three months, so...

Hanging out with a 3 month old is strangely akin to the movie Weekend at Bernie’s. You’re always propping them up in any number of contraptions. Then, when you try to get them to sit on their own, they keep leaning forward, presumably trying to bite their knees. This results in you repeatedly pushing them back up into a normal, live human, seated position. Now clap your hands and wave...

Lesson Learned
4th quarter, tie ballgame, the opposing QB takes the field hoping to mount a miraculous drive down the field with one minute to play. He takes the snap, drops back to pass, INTERSEPTION! Holy shit yes! I commence the usual jumping and screaming I do at moments like this. All is good, right? Hell no! Instantly, Emmy gets spooked and flies off the handle, screaming and crying louder and harder...
