Make my day

Following this story out of OK, where a young Mom shot and killed one of two home invaders. Super scary stuff! It is actually a topic I have been thinking about much more now that I am a Father. While I have always been pro-gun control, it’s stories like this that prey on my fears of not being able to protect my family if an instance such as this were to arise. More and more, I’m feeling like I need a way to instantly kill someone. That’s such awful thought, but I would pull that trigger in a heartbeat. These fucked up people are out there. Hard times and hard drugs make the crazies even crazier.

Of course, the flip of that coin is seen in the tragic stories of children getting ahold of adult’s firearms. Just in the last month, in my city, two 5yr olds lost their lives due to improperly stored guns.

I’m struggling to find a middle ground.
