Beautiful Day
62 degrees today! I’ve been feeling bad about not getting out with the baby due to the cold weather. So, today we made up for it by walking (almost) to the library, then sweeping the backyard deck.
I’ve been using a great baby carrier I got from my mother called Lillie Baby. It’s basically a souped up bijorn. I tried a Moby Wrap but found it frustrating, awkward, and intensely emasculating. The Lille Baby is black and grey mesh with lots of straps, buckles, and snaps. It looks like a baby carrier that would be standard issue for Marine Dads, assault rifle sling sold separately.
It’s odd how we take for granted the six inches or so directly in front of our chests. We have been doing the front facing carry and it works awesomely, but you forget how often you use that six to eight inches of space now occupied by the baby. Remedial tasks are now super awkward. Sweeping the deck today proved to be one of the bigger challenges faced so far.
